Is execution THE solution?

Kenneth Boyd. The 1000th execution in the United States since the reinstatement of capital punishment when he was put to death by lethal injection on Friday.

I'm will not state my opinions on this subject matter right now. However, I'm curious to hear other bloggers views and opinions on the death penalty. Is it neccessary? If yes, when? If it isn't right, why? Please comment. I will do a follow blog discussing the comments at a later date.

For more information on the death penalty visit this site: www.deathpenaltyinfo.org

This site provides state-by-state information on executions, history of the death penalty, discusses mental retardation, race, innocence, deterrence, and botched execution.

My 2 cents for free....
For me personally.....meaning I don’t think the world should concur...... but personally.. I am against it...I think it should be verboten as it was for about 9 years until the Supreme Court reinstated it....What satisfaction do the deceased (ex-wife and father-in-law) get from his death or the loved ones left behind (such as his children).....What vindication is there to gain from someone’s death (murder)....He is already cut completely off from society so the government has served its purpose (in my eyes) in keeping society safe from his malice....so what is the rationale in Murdering him ... Regardless if it was in the name of justice that he was executed.. at the end of the day it is still Murder.....in a sense aren’t they just as guilty as he (or any death row inmate) of the same crime that they convicted him for... Murder is Murder any way you cut it...
